comment: Apparently [the vast majority of republicans do not see me as american](https://www.ctinsider.com/columnist/article/philip-bump-family-history-what-makes-american-22326156.php) despite the fact that I was born a citizen. Considering how I've been treated in predominantly republican areas, I can't say I'm surprised. And honestly, like, what are they even gatekeeping? Compared to many first world countries, the quality of life here is ghastly. No interest in improving anything, either. The attitude is if you don't like it, you should leave.
